Receptionist / Administrative Assistant
Based in Denver, CO
S.M.A.R.T. Local #9 has an immediate opening for a full-time (40 hours) Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to work in their Denver, Colorado union office. The successful candidate must be a team player who works well with a variety of personalities, age groups and situations; is well-versed in Microsoft Office programs with a very strong emphasis in Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook; is willing to learn new things and be trained in our processes, is extremely detail oriented and capable of working in an ever-changing and fast-paced atmosphere. This is a challenging position that demands a motivated, self-starting, organized individual that has great people skills and is able to build and foster relationships. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a definite plus. Office hours are from 8:00am until 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. The compensation for the position includes a generous taxable wage of $34.44 per hour on the check ($71,635 per year) with a total wage and benefit package equivalent to $105,664.00 per year. The total package includes union paid health insurance with prescription coverage, dental insurance, life insurance, pension plan, 401(k) contributions, paid holidays, personal/sick days, two weeks paid vacation (after 1 year). After 30 days you are required to join O.P.E.I.U. Local #30, and there will be a 90-day probationary period to ensure a good fit with the rest of the team.

Overview and Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and transfer calls, screening when necessary
- Receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming mail and packages
- Maintain filing systems
- Review files and records to answer requests for information
- Photocopying, scanning, and faxing documents
- Checking and distributing documents and correspondence
- Preparing and sending outgoing mail and packages
- Collect cash, and checks payments from members
- Maintain cash control over register drawer and verify amounts are correct
- Typing and sending documents and correspondence
- Data processing
- Updating and maintaining databases
- Assist with onboarding new Union Members
- Provide general support to facility visitors
- Provide initial introductions and information to incoming applicants
- Perform errands as needed
- Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent employee, contactors, members, and applicants
- Assist colleagues with tasks as needed
- Special event organizing and planning
- Other duties as assigned
