Salary: $129,586.74 – $145,851.00

Purpose:
The IT and Data Manager will be responsible for improving the Union’s information systems. This position will manage IT staff, oversee data systems, and lead efforts to assess, update, and secure the Local’s technology infrastructure. 

Directions and Decision Making
Direct supervision and direction will be from the Director of Operations or other supervisors as assigned. 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Systems Assessment and Modernization:
    • Conduct comprehensive reviews of all IT systems, accounts, and services.
    • Ensure equipment and systems are current and meet organizational needs.
    • Recommend and implement improvements to data and IT processes in line with evolving organizational priorities.
  • Data Management:
    • Serve as the data manager, maintaining and improving the membership database to support organizing, bargaining, research, political, and administrative goals.
    • Conduct regular database audits and updates to ensure data accuracy and usability.
  • IT Supervision and Support:
    • Supervise and support IT staff, ensuring prompt responses to user needs.
    • Coordinate daily IT operations, including hardware, software, and account management.
    • Provide direction and guidance to IT staff to enhance technical understanding and coverage.
  • Data Security and Infrastructure:
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop and maintain the Local’s data security and disaster recovery plans.
    • Oversee and strengthen data security protocols, including password management, access controls, and backup procedures.
    • Stay informed about emerging data technologies, data protection standards, and best practices to anticipate future needs.
  • Other Duties:
    • Provide technical or analytical support for projects outside the standard scope when necessary.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the Local’s data systems and IT operations effectively support its mission.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of proven management experience in Information Technology.
  • Proficiency in managing databases and networks.
  • Knowledge of information security practices, data protection, and risk management.
  • Experience with UnionWare is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and technical skills.
  • Ability to align IT strategy with organizational objectives.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work extended days and occasional overnight travel.
  • Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license, auto insurance with business coverage, and an automobile for business use.

Physical Requirements (as required by ADA)
Work is performed in a variety of employment settings. Driving, travel, temporary assignments, irregular and extended work hours are required.
