About the IUPAT
The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) represents a growing force of men and women in the United States and Canada who work in the Finishing Trades – Industrial & Commercial Painting, Drywall Finishing, Glazing & Glass Work, and Floor Covering Installation, and many more successful careers in the construction industry and public sector. 

The IUPAT District Council 78 is committed to representing, building power with and fighting alongside all workers in our industry; union and non-union alike. We are seeking a driven, dependable Union Organizer to help build worker power across Florida’s finishing trades (painting, glazing, drywall). 

  • This is a field-first role: jobsite outreach, one-on-ones, and campaign support. 
  • This Full-Time position will be required to travel throughout the state of Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Jobsite & contractor outreach statewide
  • Identify and develop Campaigns/worker leaders
  • Support organizing campaigns & events
  • Maintain daily activity/contact reports

Qualifications

  • Commitment to worker justice; strong people skills
  • Willing to work long/irregular hours; travel statewide
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
  • Union/community organizing experience a plus

Salary and Benefits
Salary is competitive. Full union benefits (health, pension); training via IUPAT Organizing Division.
