What You’ll Do
The DGA has a long history of negotiating effective and financially rewarding residuals formulas to compensate DGA members for the reuse of their work. The Residuals Enforcement team, led by the Administrator, is responsible for monitoring and enforcing these contractually bargained residuals provisions. Today, as entertainment distribution patterns shift and evolve, the role of residuals enforcement is more important than ever.
The Residuals Enforcement Administrator plays a key role in the DGA’s contract enforcement efforts, leading a team responsible for identifying, pursuing, and collecting missing residuals - thereby ensuring that DGA members are paid correctly and on time for the exhibition of their work. A successful candidate will build strong professional relationships while aggressively representing the DGA and its members.
This position works on-site at the DGA’s Los Angeles headquarters.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee a busy team of claims representatives; help prioritize enforcement activities and review & improve enforcement processes.
- Interpret and analyze residuals provisions of collective bargaining agreements.
- Identify areas of concern and interest and develop proposed solutions.
- Work closely with Executive, Research, and Legal Departments to resolve contract violations.
- Communicate effectively with DGA members and employer representatives.
- Track, analyze, and report on residuals payment trends.
- Provide support to senior executives to prepare for and negotiate collective bargaining agreements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least five years of experience working with residuals.
- Strong and effective skills and experience as a manager/supervisor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Deep fluency in Excel.
- Proven ability to read and interpret contracts and collective bargaining agreements.
- Detail oriented, highly organized and able to handle competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to analyze information and frame issues.
- Excellent judgment.
- Highly collaborative style, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- Commitment to the mission of the DGA, the labor union representing directors and their teams.
- Discretion and professionalism are key given the nature of the work and access to confidential information.
- Must be comfortable with technology in a business environment. Experience with Qlik or other business intelligence/analysis tools is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field. Law degree is a plus.

Starting Salary Range:
$115,000 – $135,000, depending on experience
