Colorado Independent Drivers United – Driver Support Organization (CIDU-DSO) is a worker organization, affiliated with CWA Local 7777, representing gig workers in Colorado, primarily Uber and Lyft drivers. For years, app-based workers have had their rights and their input into their working lives restricted. Finally after years of struggle we were successful in passing legislation which provides education, transparency and deactivation protections for rideshare drivers.
Drivers have fought long and hard to establish these rights and are looking for staff who are committed to fight for social and economic justice for their communities.
CIDU-DSO is seeking an Executive Director who can provide a full range of support to the organization and the workers that CIDU-DSO serves. This position will require:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and lead CIDU's strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
- Set organizational goals, monitor progress, and adapt to changing conditions in the gig economy.
- Promote an inclusive, equitable, and empowering organizational culture.
- Oversee the development and implementation of support services and outreach efforts aligned with SB24-075 and CIDU’s mission.
- Direct issue-based campaigns for local and state-level policy wins that improve conditions for gig drivers.
- Hire, manage, and support CIDU staff, including organizers, administrative support, and external consultants.
- Establish staff goals and performance evaluations; foster leadership and professional development.
- Represent CIDU publicly in meetings with legislators, press, allies, and rideshare companies.
- Coordinate with allied labor, immigrant rights, and community-based organizations.
- Develop and manage the organizational budget in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements..
COMPLIANCE AND GOVERNANCE
- Ensure CIDU remains compliant with all federal, state, and local laws, including SB24-075 requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between the Board of Directors and staff; support board meetings, agendas, and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of nonprofit or labor leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience with staff management, organizing strategy, and public policy advocacy.
- Strong understanding of gig economy issues, worker rights, and racial/economic justice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with diverse, immigrant, and multilingual communities.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with SB24-075 and the Colorado gig economy landscape.
- Fluency in Spanish, Arabic, Amharic, Nepali/Nepalese, or Kiswahili is a plus.
- Experience in campaign development or strategic communications.
- Experience with case management.

CIDU - DSO offers a competitive salary starting at $95,000 – $105,000 based off of experience and qualifications and excellent benefits including family medical, dental and vision, paid time off, retirement, etc.
